- Decreasing stress
- Increasing hydration
- Making sure meals aren’t missed
- Getting enough sleep
- Anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen and naproxen sodium
- Stimulants like caffeine
- Combinations, such as Exedrin for Migraine and Midrin
- Triptans – prescription medications that come as pills, dissolving tablets, nasal sprays, and injections
- Ergot-based medications that come in oral and injectable forms
- Tranquilizer and anti-nausea medications
- Calcium channel blockers
- Blood pressure medications
- Antidepressants
- Anticonvulsants (anti-seizure medications)
